As you drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon, you are traveling through an 800-million year journey through geologic time. Rodger Fry discusses the long period of deposition of up to 30,000 feet of sediment followed by the mountain building process and finally the glacial period. He will also tell us how the mineral deposits were formed that brought numerous prospectors into the mining district between 1880 and the early 1900's.
